Julie Shealy is a Florida-based artist living in Ocala, Florida. For Julie, art brings to life the beauty in the everyday. Creating a visual experience that you can relate to, that warms your heart and touches your soul, is Julie's inspiration for painting. Her style is painterly, colorful, and impressionistic. Being a self-taught artist gives Julie the luxury to paint without rules. In addition to painting, Julie teaches and holds workshops for budding artists at Gallery B Studio in Ocala.

THE PROBLEM
Julie had been through the website rodeo before. Her existing website was a Wordpress website that was outdated and difficult to manage on her own. She wanted a website where she could build her brand and integrate her marketing platforms. Most importantly, Julie wanted a website that was simple to navigate for both her and her buyers.
THE STRATEGY
We started with Julie’s brand. We got to know who she is, who her target audience is, and how she wanted to be perceived. Then, we created a moodboard inspired by her own artwork that visually brought her business’ personality to life.
The development came next. We focused on the functionality Julie needed to run her art business, starting with the painting events and classes at Gallery B Studio. By adding an event ticketing app, we allowed Julie to sell digital tickets online. On the back end, she could control every aspect of the event (time, location, price, capacity, etc.), market the event, and manage the sales.
Email and social media marketing are a big part of Julie’s success, so we connected her Shopify site to her Flodesk, Facebook, and Instagram accounts. To help her sell her original artwork, we implemented a mockup app that provided images of her artwork in styled interiors, allowing visitors to better imagine her artwork in their space.
Finally, we focused on training Julie with website management. We sent her tutorial videos with lifetime access, went over all the most common functions of Shopify’s admin dashboard, and provided friendly and encouraging post-launch support.
THE RESULTS
By creating a new digital home for Julie, we helped her breathe new life into her business. Customers can browse, discover, and purchase original art and tickets for live events. Meanwhile, Julie confidently manages her inventory and back-office operations. We are so proud to have provided her with a cohesive website that showcases her brand and artwork brilliantly.
